The Central Superior Services (CSS) exam in Pakistan is a highly competitive examination conducted annually by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). It serves as a gateway to prestigious bureaucratic positions in various federal government departments. The exam is open to graduates aged 21 to 30 years and is structured to test candidates’ intellectual ability, general knowledge, and leadership potential.
CSS consists of a written examination, medical test, psychological assessment, and viva voce (interview). The written exam includes six compulsory subjects and six optional subjects chosen from a defined list. Candidates who successfully pass the written portion are summoned for the remaining phases.
The services one can qualify for include the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), Police Service of Pakistan (PSP), Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP), and more. CSS is not just a test of knowledge but of character, discipline, and determination.
